(11,464 posts)now, many people voted for Reagan in 1980 and 1984
and didn't vote for Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale.
(note- I was NOT the one who posted that, and I fully support Elizabeth Warren.)
HOWEVER-30 years ago, Ronald Reagan was in office. and
NOTE-I voted for JImmy Carter and Walter Mondale.(and Mike Dukakis in 1988 when 41 ran,
and twice for Bill Clinton in the generals).
I don't hold grudges. Because now she is a team player democratic party ticket person.
However
actions=reactions=consequences
it starts at the letter A.
and of course since 2012, the record is murky about the past.
But she admits to being a republican in her 40s. And that was in the age of Jimmy Carter vs. Ronald Reagan.and Bush41 vs. Dukakis, and then Bill Clinton.
The record at the moment on wiki-
Warren voted as a Republican for many years saying, "I was a Republican because I thought that those were the people who best supported markets." She states that in 1995 she began to vote Democratic because she no longer believed that to be true, but she says that she has voted for both parties because she believed that neither party should dominate.
so when she claims things happened in last 30 years...well, Ronald Reagan and Bush41 were in power, because many people did NOT vote for Jimmy Carter in 1980.
One can't have it both ways, and again, I hold ZERO grudges about any democratic person now, just don't want history to repeat itself later on.
BTW-as the quote is to Chris Christie-I voted for Jon Corzine over C.C. and will vote against him again. Better to hold ones nose and vote straight democratic, than to vote for something worse in the cases where neither choice is ideal.
I know the real Chris Christie and it's nobody anyone on DU should support.
(edit to add-note-this is in the General discussion area.
Had this been in the special group/forum Warren section,I would not have replied to it,but general discussion are posts open for debate and I am discussing the issue in it).
