Steve Lynch jumps on the bandwagon of Faux concerning welfare benefits to the Boston bombers

Frankly, I started with very little sympathy for Lynch for political reasons. At this point, I think this goes to character.

Steve Lynch Goes For Broke
By Charles P. Pierce
at 3:15pm
I have reasons, both personal and professional, and a serious combination of both, to vote for Edward Markey over Steve Lynch in next week's Democratic senatorial primary here in the Commonwealth (God save it!). I used to think I could live with a Lynch win, but, as soon as he jumped on the latest fauxtrage bandwagon, he was pretty much dead to me as a candidate.
After those revelations, Massachusetts state agencies refused to provide any more information, citing the dead man's right to privacy. A Democratic congressman from Massachusetts chided the administration of Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick. "It's certainly relevant information that should be made public," U.S. Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, D-Mass., told the Herald. "There's a national security interest, No. 1. Secondly, there's also a public interest in finding out whether these individuals were able to exploit the system and get benefits they weren't entitled to."

Oh, please, Steve. This is a desperate bid to lock up the votes of those putative Massachusetts Democrats who still read the Boston Herald and who still listen to talk radio, because you've pretty much lost everyone else. But I repeat myself. In the first place, if there really is a "national security interest" in what benefits Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his family may have received back in the days when nobody knew who the hell he was, the pages of our plucky little tabloid would seem to me to be the last place we'd want that bruited about. In the second place, unless you want to political benefits of arguing that welfare=terrorism, or welfare=cheat, there's no "public interest" in finding out whether the Tsarnaevs were exploiting the system. We are now into the they-won't-give-us-what-we-want-what-are-they-hiding? Joe on a carphone period of how we build a scandal these days. Steve Lynch has decided to grab it with both hands. That's a shame.

OTOH, It's a legit piece of the puzzle. But it should'nt be taken out of context by the Boston Birdcage Liner.

I have found his public behavior since the beginning of this story extremely tacky, and frankly, all I hope is that he loses and then that people in his district kick him out. We can do better in MA.

That's the legitimate question.

I have long been dissapointed in Rep. Lynch, but I have Sen. Ayotte to deal with "up noth". Not to mention Doofus Brown's threat to move north....
