And, with that in mind, she.. we've come quite a ways since the bush-cheney years almost destroyed America..

Business has been slowly but surely picking up for Jerrold Glick

Optimism fuels US economic recovery

He set up his business, JAG Carpet and Rugs, in Jamaica in the New York City borough of Queens in 1993, and has 45 years' experience in the industry.

"I definitely see an opening up in business, though not very rapidly," Mr Glick says.

"It's happening very slowly but it has been improving over the past six months."

'Willing to relax'

JAG started off as a mainly wholesale business, but now the majority of its trade is on the retail side.

The neighbourhood of Jamaica was hit hard by the crash in the housing market with many homeowners protesting against enforced foreclosures.

Boston Strong

"This surreal nightmare is over…. We are Boston Strong!"

As we struggled to process the news, our communities came under siege, or so it seemed at the time, with every possible law enforcement presence on the streets of Boston. Little did we know then, that we were seeing only the tip of the iceberg. The President flew in to take part in the memorial services, and reporters stood on street corners trying to come up with B roll to fill the time as they awaited the presidential motorcade. Suddenly, the world seemed to be a different place. I mean really, we even became friends with the Yankees? Talk about a surreal time in our lives.

To see the countless city, state and federal authorities working together the way they did was nothing short of amazing, and we are all eternally grateful to each and every one of them for their brave dedication to protecting the citizens of the greater Boston area. It was both comforting, and yes a bit scary, to see military vehicles on the streets of an American city, but in the end, it was just what we needed, when we needed it.

treat you better than your elected officials.
At some point it would seem plausible that you would vote your best interest.

There was a windshield washer/beggar in Atl. 25 or so years ago, washed my window at a red light and expected a couple of bucks.
It was a rainout day and I still had my lunch bucket full, gave him two big ass sandwiches,a can of beenie weenies and a few cookies.
When he went to shake my hand with a funny look on his face,I pulled him close and told him if he could swing a hammer he could make money.
2-3 weeks later I saw him on a job that I was running and he was out there swinging a hammer making prolly $12 + an hour.
I talked to him again years later and he still claimed that I made a difference in his life.

Little stuff helps.

even when committed by our own party.

Together we can change things. Apologists for the indefensible are as culpable as the thieves.
