Bush's Retrospective Approval is Near Worst
Harry Enten: "Bush's retrospective approval is the second worst among presidents in the last 50 years. To save you doing the math, Carter's 52% approval rating is higher than Bush's 47%. Only the Watergate-tainted Richard Nixon recorded a lower retrospective approval than Bush... Thus, not only did Bush tie for the second worst final approval rating while in office, but he is also has the second worst retrospective job approval rating."

I pointed out that it had to be the "Tootsie" effect (lines from the movie Tootsie: "I'd like to make her look a little more attractive, how far can you pull back? Cameraman: How do you feel about Cleveland? "
Of course history will look back on Dumbya kindly. Remember, he gave the exclusive publishing rights of school history textbooks to a Texas publishing firm that donated to his campaigns.
