WH Petition:Allow the Drug Czar to support the legalization of marijuana.
You may have seen a story today on the drug czar coming against legalization. What you and most people may not know is it's actually against the law from the drug czar to supporting legalizing any Schedule I drug. The easiest way would be to simply remove it from Schedule I, but this a roadblock as well. It's bit deck stacking, everytime the subject comes up the media goes to him, he says no and giving political cover on the issue "Look the drug czar is against so it can be that good of any idea" . So I created a WH petition.
Allow the Drug Czar to support the legalization of marijuana.
Currently federal law prevents the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy(aka the Drug Czar) from supporting legalization. We are asking the Obama Administration to introduce and support legislation to allow the Director to support the legalization of marijuana. Allowing the Director the power to consider all options in dealing with marijuana.
