Barbara Bush: Jeb shouldn’t run for president

If Jeb Bush runs for president in 2016, he’ll find himself going against the wishes of his own mother.

“There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes,” former first lady Barbara Bush told NBC’s “Today,” adding that she doesn’t think her son, the former Florida governor, will make a bid.

But, she said, it’s not because Jeb Bush would not be the best candidate. ”He’s by far the best qualified man, but no, I really don’t” want to see him run, she said.

Former first Lady Laura Bush took a more optimistic view about the prospect of a Jeb Bush presidential campaign.

for the presidency.

Maybe Mama Bush knows that "W" would never have made it without the corrupt operations that were taking place behind the scenes. I bet she knows they stole that election for "W."

We have long been denied two titans running against each other for the heart of America.

2016 is it. Hillary45 with 450 electoral votes including Texas and Florida.

(except about the part of he being best qualified!)

are still being heard and felt. He was the first Republican governor, ever, to win a second term in FL. Since his two terms we've had Crist, whom Jeb endorsed, (beware those who think Crist is a true convert) and now Scott. That's 4 consecutive terms with a Republican at the helm. The Democratic party is in shambles here...the state is a mess, and the GOP has controlled the redistricting the past two censuses.

He is smarter than his brother...I fear Jeb more than any other.

As long as he has corrupt Republican rainmakers contributing to his campaign you can rest assured that he will not be the face of change in Florida.

IIRC, in the early 2000's his wife was stopped at an airport trying to smuggle goods (jewelry I think?) into the country w/o going thru customs.

And the daughter's story of addiction can't make them too proud, either.

If he runs, it will allllllll be news again ... so much for the shiny, happy image.

I'm not the least bit concerned with his wife's faux pas. Many people returning from foreign countries under-declare or fail to declare something. As to his daughter's addiction, few families escape that cross. I would be very disappointed if Dems tried to make either an issue.

But, he is truly a tool of the global plutocracy...that I find more than a bit worrisome.

In reality, he is a Teabagger's dream. Once in the WH he would dismantle what is left of past progressive policies. He talks moderate...behind the scenes he behaves like an ax wielding berserker!

I love it how she and Nancy RAYGUN were such coldblooded Rethugs in their prime, yet have frequently given the official Rethugs a pain in the neck, like how Nancy vetoed the RAYGUN worshippers on their wanting to replace FDR on the dime with RAYGUN.

As for the horseface reference, in Kitty KELLY's book, when Poppy was dating her, the brothers and cousins snickered that she looked like the family horse and secretly called her by the horse's name (I forget what it was).

The Shrubs generation give lip service to how much respect and obedience they give Horseface, so I hope that her words here will paint them into a corner. But then there's that pipsqueak, George PEE Shrub, now running for easy pickings in Texas. Poppy called him (one of) "my little Brown ones," when he was a kid. If only Horseface would blab that he ain't got the personal heft to inflict himself on the country.
