but this time, they claim, won't be racist, because they'll be in favor of enslaving us black and white alike. In this brave new republican America we will be judged not by the color of our skin, but the contents of our bank accounts...

The Democratic Party will find Common Ground,
and meet them half-way with a sensible, pragmatic Compromise.

This will be a HUGE victory because the Democrats will look like The Adults!

They have a cold-steel ideology, and the GOPers WILL NOT be dissuaded from it. They just do not fear or recognize any thing or institution that purportedly stands before them. The resistance to the GOP can't hope for some kind of passive aggressiveness writ large; resistance will come from a strong party with something to say. And what is said should be marked by brevity and clarity.

The GOP WILL undue it all if things continue as they have been. They have not forged this Right-Wing machine for 50 years only to compromise. They will go for it all.

Esquire's latest issue has something to say about the hatred and viciousness which dominates the internet. I recommend it. Some quotes by Marche:

The Internet has reached peak hate.

It would be silly to blame Twitter or the comment boards for this human impulse. People are the problem, not technology.
[interesting, that last one]

Because nothing says "profamily" more than parents having to work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.

They are all lackey stooges for the one percenters.
They only pretend to represent the voters at election time.
