The Boston Marathon route is not likely to have been planned around a revenge act against a department store. Choosing a day when there are a zillion cameras operating is probably a poor choice.

If it was, and it was their target, why not leave the bombs inside Lord and Taylor?
And if wasn't, why not wait and do it on a day when it was open.

So, I would conclude that it is highly unlikely that it has squat to do with Lord and Taylor and their mother's honor.
