Can the Koch Bros. be stopped from buying the media too? It's worth a try at least.

From FreePress.org

Bad News: Stop the Koch Brothers

The bankrupt Tribune Company is selling its daily newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times. Charles and David Koch — billionaire brothers notorious for their extreme politics — may be the buyers.

According to the New York Times, the Koch brothers want to buy these media properties to push their anti-environment, anti-labor and anti-democracy agenda.

We don't need more corporate control of our media and our politics. We need journalism that fights corruption — not hack writing that covers it up.

Stopping the Koch brothers’ bid for the Tribune Company is about supporting the kind of journalism that serves communities and acts as a watchdog against the wealthy and powerful.

Tell the Tribune Co.: Don't sell your papers to the Koch brothers.

When you are bankrupt, you aren't in a position to be picky about your buyers. N/T GreenStormCloud Apr 2013 #3

it was really bad until recently but the koch bros. would`t really change much.everyone knows where the tribune stands on just about every issue in chicago. as with any newspaper the tribune is a shell of itself. the daily paper is 50% or more than it`s former page count. the weekend is supported by the advertising insert .

the bros are buying a pig in the poke but i guess they do`t care.

You are correct that the company is not a beacon of liberalism.

However, in the larger sense, it would still be better to have other conservative buttheads owning it rather than adding to the already obscene hold the Koch's have over our system.
