Reid: Ricin incident at Bolling Air Force base

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday that there has been another ricin incident at Bolling Air Force base in Southeast Washington, D.C.

“We’ve had another incident today I’m told at Bolling Air Force base. Same substance,” said Reid.

Reid divulged the information after law enforcement authorities released Paul Kevin Curtis, who had been arrested with mailing ricin-laced letters to President Obama and Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.).
“I was told that they’re going to release this man. He of course claims he was framed so we’ll see,” said Reid.
Reid said he did not have any other information related to Curtis’s release.

1. Maybe that's why they released Curtis

They think the crazy person is still out there, that Curtis is the wrong guy.

It would still be interesting to know if the ricin was refined at all, or if it was the same concentration you'd find in a castor bean right off the bush.

That's all.

Grant said today it appeared someone had “put castor beans into a food processor or blender and ground them up.”

They've searched him home and found no evidence of even that.

4. Good, it also means the letters weren't terribly toxic

unless someone had eaten them.

Curtis is still crazy, poor bugger. I hope they at least gave him an idea of where to get help when they let him go.

He's someone who needs some mental health management, to be sure!

No, the letters wouldn't have hurt anyone, but it's still a crime to send them. Not that it appears he did.

...their case against him isn't right. I have no idea what that is at this time, but if they had any reason to really think he would have committed this crime there's no way the judge would let him out before trial.

Ergo, there is something fucked with the case against him.
