I came onto DU this morning and found this ad across the top for protecting voting rights.

So, let me get this straight. They want to limit early voting. They'd take away nights and weekends. Who works nights and weekends? Usually, the poor do. They want a poll tax. You know some won't be able to afford that. It's also believed this will cut student voting on campus.
Who do the poor and college students usually vote for? Democrats.
I've tried to be nice in regards to Republicans taking over our state. I've tried to give them a chance. But honestly, they've been almost completely good for nothing but breaking stuff. They pushed for a so called marriage amendment vote, which affects straights too. They either passed or are about to pass a law saying we need to wait two years to get a divorce, which will make things harder on domestic violence victims. They've reduced unemployment benefits our state.
Okay, I get it. Some Democrats (particularly a certain governor accused of stealing) in the past messed things up for us economically. Fine. The answer is obviously not NC Republicans. They may be okay in some states, but in my state I feel like they're sucking the life out of us. I think I'm going to scream.
Oh yeah, here's the petition for anybody who wants to sign it.

(38,187 posts)I don't like any of NC's Republicans, but I particularly do not like him, AT ALL. He has to be one of the dumbest non-Bush Republicans I have seen in politics.
