America has some of the longest and harshest prison sentences in the world…

If Tsarnaev is convicted and doesn't get death, everyone who wants him to rot in prison can rest assured that he's going to do exactly that.

Of course, that won't be good enough for many in this country.

For a lot of people, nothing is good enough for the objects of their vengeance…

Even the fact that America has some of the longest and harshest prison sentences in the world.

In the USA, justice doesn't even mean punishment. It is revenge, pure and simple. Yet another example of the dysfunction of living in a culture steeped in religion.

Parole boards rarely grant parole to an inmate who maintains his innocence. They take salvation experiences into consideration when deciding a prisoner's fate as well. The prison system is full of people who believe that man is inherently evil, therefore, they want to see subjugation to the puritanical angry deity.
