The Columbine murderers actually KNEW their victims. They went to school every day with them. They had their own hatreds and resentments--real or perceived. They weren't out for revenge against SOCIETY, they were out to punish those that they felt had done them wrong. It was extremely personal, as murder often is.

The Boston terrorists didn't know any of the victims. The victims had never done or said a thing to them. They just happened to be there, when the bombs went off. The bombers didn't care who they hurt, and didn't stick around to see them actually being hurt. It was all so impersonal. And it really can't be seen as revenge at all, since none of the victims had harmed them in any way.

And we still do not know enough about these two. It may turn out that they're both sociopaths. Time will tell what their motives might have been.

But the main similarity I see is that there were two people hurting others.

Because any person can find bomb making instructions at all three venues.

for each page you go to.

Every webpage should have as it's main page pics of people killed by the internet so we can throw logic out the window and work off of emotions (ala 9/11, etc).

And what about pages that more than one story per page? Our founders never envisioned that. Only single story pages to make it harder to find the information (and no pages with auto load to refresh content...god knows how many that has helped).

*FACT* - almost all (nearly 100%) of crimes done in this country were done by people who had internet access.

Dispute it, go ahead NIA (national internet association) shrills but every time a child dies, you have blood on your super highway.

I don't believe people go nuts from religion, ideology, etc. It's just a context they choose to hide their personality defects. They could put themselves into a trance like the zombified consumers of Fox News and do the same thing.

Those indoctrinated into any rigid belief system, or whatever they use to justify what they are doing, are just dressing it up. These two were just killers, plain and simple, looking for a cause or a spark.

I was sure that Tamerlan wrote it all down with diagrams, etc. in a notebook while he was at bomb school. Then he brought it back with him and carried it through customs disguised as a vacation scrapbook.

At the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Dzhokhar began to struggle academically. According to a university transcript reviewed by The New York Times, he was failing many of his classes. The transcript shows him receiving seven failing grades over three semesters, including F’s in Principles of Modern Chemistry, Intro to American Politics and Chemistry and the Environment. According to the transcript, Dzhokhar received a B in Critical Writing and a D and D-plus in two other courses.
