Alert in red on top of Reuters homepage: http://www.reuters.com/
ETA: Alert in red now gone. What I pasted was exactly as written. Maybe they redacted, maybe not.

(146,192 posts)If they make it halal, the Iranians will eat themselves to death.
I try to stay away from poutine, but it's making inroads into Minnesota, now, so I'm doomed. I bought a big serving at the State Fair last year, and my wife had to drag me away from ordering another. I'm so hosed.

(19,114 posts)AMAZING cheese curds you can buy directly from the factory, and you can make simply mouthwatering homemade poutine with them.

(8,646 posts)and they had it in text under the person talking. I didn't actually catch what they said, though, just saw 'Iran'.

(93,873 posts)By your logic, we're declaring war on Chechnya, right?
laundry_queen
(8,646 posts)is that the US government will use any excuse to go to war with Iran, including if there was a plot in Canada they will even use THAT as a 'reason'. The US government has ZERO desire to get in a war with Chechnya and get involved with Russia, but for awhile now, certain members in the US gov't have been beating the war drums with regards to Iran. So your post is a bit off the mark, as the US has no desire to attack Chechnya, but they DO have a desire to get involved with Iran (and have had that desire for awhile now). The OP's post makes sense to me, but then I have zero faith in the US government.

(8,646 posts)Just saying they will use this as one of their excuses if they ever do. Oh, and it won't be Canada who starts it.

(93,873 posts)Last time I checked, Barack Obama was President and Commander in Chief of the Military. Did I miss something?
laundry_queen
(8,646 posts)Barack Obama is not exactly some peacenik (still in Afghanistan....and then there's them drones...). And he likes those corporations. He's vulnerable to those involved in the MIC, IMO. I don't think you can make all that equate to zero, but have at it. Whatever makes you happy. I happen to be a bit more jaded.

(93,873 posts)The PROOF that I see is that the President is withdrawing usa from two wars. The FAITH that there's a continuing multi-Party conspiracy to start a war with Iran lies with the other side.
