(4,297 posts)I tried and tried, first going to the keystonecomments@state.gov, which just yielded a long complicated list of related topics, then going to the one that seemed most relevant which took me to the State Department home page, then clicking on Contact Us, which led me to a so-called link, which would only work through Outlook Express. Since my browser (or whatever) does not allow me to send email through Outlook Express, I could not get through. I wonder if somebody is taking advantage of the confusion of people who haven't had the time (or brains?) to learn how to manage this new technology. Well, from failing hands I pass the torch to the next generations.

(24,692 posts)The Environmental Protection Agency on Monday criticized the State Department's environmental impact review of the Keystone XL pipeline, saying there was not enough evidence to back up key conclusions on gas emissions, safety and alternative routes.
In a letter to top State Department officials, the agency said it had "environmental objections" to their review, which concluded the pipeline would have minimal impact on the environment. The analysis could complicate efforts to win approval for the controversial $7-billion project.
Shawn Howard, a spokesman for the pipeline's owner, TransCanada, said, "We have not seen that comment so I can't respond to it specifically."
Environmentalists welcomed the EPA's analysis.
