Damn dock workers are on strike. You know I won't cross a picket line. There goes my vacation!
Seriously, several private communications from DUers gave me a needed slap in the face. Now if I can help convince others that have left to return, I guess my hiatus will have done some good. It looks like carolinayellowdog won't be leaving either. But his health comes first.
I knew I wouldn't be gone long. I was thinking just a week or so. I'm sorry I caused such a stir.
The DU is still the place for intelligent conversation of opposing points of view. We fight within the party. But it is the DU party. It also has the best collection of progressive info on the planet shared at the speed that DUers fingers can type. Sometimes we forget how much positive influence we have for others that find their way here.
I really couldn't afford the cruise anyway.
Warmest Regards,
Omaha Steve

(6,476 posts)You are so right. We all get disgusted from time to time but hugs and expressions of support are always a welcome thing. I'm glad you didn't leave and like you I hope others will stay as well.

(45,851 posts)I go through fits and starts on DU, I'll spend months on here hours a day and then go for weeks or more barely looking and seldom posting. DU is like spicy food, it's tasty and addictive as hell but it can upset the digestion something awful.

(60,298 posts)I have been astounded by the ignorance of people in this town that has such a strong union history of steel workers and UAW.

Welcome back. It seems like you have hardly been gone.

(172 posts)I'll see a story here and two days later it will be on HuffPo next to the Kardashian page. DU gives me the RW talking points so I can cut off tea baggers before they can recite what Fox just put into their little brains.

You've earned some vacation, but it's our gain you aren't gone.

(16,854 posts)So I always opt for a flight right to the destination. I spend more time in that country and see the people and life there doing that.
Don't want to "FALL" off one of those tubs anyway.
