I know how the ACA is creating jobs, goodbye full-time positions

It will be cheaper for employers to have two 28 hour per week employees than one 56 hour full-time employee, the part-timers will get no health insurance whereas the full-timer would. They also save money without the time-and-half overtime as well, win-win for the business owners.

Two 28 hour part-time employees cost less than one 56 hour full-time employee, same amount of labor.

companies should have been required to provide proportional benefits. 30 or more full, 25 or more 3/4, 20 or more 1/2, 15 or more 1/3, etc.

About the only full time careers left around here, and even some healthcare workers I know are having trouble finding full time work as well. I know a RN and a Radiology Tech that only have part time/contract positions, full time with benefits is getting scarce everywhere.

Mid-level managers then have to decide whether they want fewer employees or more part timers in order to get the work done without going over their total employee compensation budget.

If you raise the price of labor, employers will buy less of it.
