One more added to the list of crazies. "Little League canceled after parent shoots gun".

I swear, let some people own a gun and it saps every brain cell from their head.

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- The North Vallejo Little League season has been canceled indefinitely after shots were fired at a game this week.

The field where Major League All-Star pitcher, CC Sabathia played as a kid is empty. The sounds of baseball were silenced after a parent fired shots into the vehicle of a parent from the opposing team on Wednesday.

"Fired a weapon at a tee ball game. First of all, how do you bring a gun to a tee ball game and second, how do you fire it off?" asked Anthony Spears, a North Vallejo Little League father.

Now Spears says his son's season has been canceled indefinitely until the North Vallejo Little League can figure out how to ensure the safety of its players.

You should lose your right to own a gun and spend time in jail and pay a huge fine. Someone could accidentally be killed. God I hate gun nuts like this!

If it makes you feel better that's probably exactly what will happen...

I don't really think this has anything to do with 'gun nuts' from what I read in the story. This was just one person with one gun. they didn't' find an armory in his backseat or a weapons cache in his house.

Also, I'd hope the story would be a little more clear about the details. All it says is that it happened 'in the area' of the field and it doesn't go into what happened, if anyone was injured, or why there was an argument.

Some context would really be nice.

Is there some crazy "approved" reason for shooting a gun where kids are playing baseball? Seriously?

Not even a cop in pursuit would take a shot in that situation.

I require proper context for everything before I make a call on a situation. Sorry if I wanted more information. next time I'll just pull the string on my back without a second's hesitation.

My granddaughters were playing ball today. If some damned fool started shooting, they'd never go back.

There IS no context.

it depends on the police force in question and where the chase/shooting takes place and who gets shot

I remember MPLS police shooting a 9 year old on a playground while pursuing a suspect, of course this was in a Black neighborhood and the kid that got shot was Black, they the MPD tried to make the kid sound guilty of something for just being there, it was broad daylight BTW

A little league game was taking place, parents got into a disagreement, shots were fired. What more do you need to know? Guns at Little league games are not necessary. Your 1st post on DU was a complete fail.

Here's one more report of the incident.

Soon cities and towns will stop sponsoring any activity where they could be liable for someone getting shot.
