I stand with them in the face of hatred and bigotry and intolerance.
I stand with against assaults from lawmakers like Lindsay Graham and Peter King
I stand with them against state lawmakers who are showing their hate and ignorance through introducing legislation against Sharia law, which is just another way to express their bigotry.
I stand with them against the Pamela Gellers and David Horowitz's and against all those spewing hate.
I stand with them as they face new assaults after the Boston Marathon bombings.
I know American Muslims as a group, are no more to blame for what happened in Boston than any other ethnic or religious group.
I stand with them.

say African Americans...where actions of a few are represented in stereotypes of many
and have suffered for decades?
Standing with them? doesn't help unless you take the time to befriend one..as a friend, get to know someone outside your normal culture
Invite them to your home, for dinner...I see too many folks say they stand for something, without really knowing what that group actually goes through on a daily basis..

(7,006 posts)Where I live, we are blessed to be around many Arabic's who practice the Muslim RELIGION. To be completely correct, Muslim is a religious belief, not a ethnic background.
With such, its' sad that more Americans are not exposed to the positive aspects of the Muslim faith. In my town, we have a mosque right around the corner from my home. It was not a fight or debate to build the mosque three years ago as the Township zoning department approved the plan, it was build and hundreds of Arabic's, Africans and others who practice the Muslim faith worship there.
This is not about the Koran, Arabic's or those who practice Muslim faith. Instead, this is about the sick, deranged actions of those who call themselves Muslim worshipers who TWIST words in the Koran to fit their psychopath, murderous intentions.

(3 posts)It very brave of you to "stand" with the muslims, but do you also stand with people of other faiths, such as Christians or Jews, when a few nut cases do things contrary to their faith?

(247 posts)My Muslim neighbors garage was burned down a month ago.
They are the most wonderful neighbors and a beautiful family.
We all would have said NEVER in this neighborhood and then
it happened.
I stand with them. Nothing we wouldn't do to protect them
and support them.
