I get concerned people think this glorifies those who go out in a hail of bullets, Ma Barker or Bonnie & Clyde style, and gives them everlasting anything (except maybe a place in hell)

Infamy is a negative, but secular word. It means known for badness, just as fame means celebrated for valor. You probably know how FDR used it to describe Pearl Harbor. No one who knows how to read a dictionary wants infamy. It almost shares a prefix with "infidel". But of course "fidelity" and "fame" are unrelated root words.

have only to look at 10,000 law enforcement personnel, social media obsessed with events, a city locked down, 24 hour news coverage for a week, etc, etc. I'm not saying there should be censorship, nor do I have a solution. It's just unfortunate that unstable people will see what happened in Boston and think that's what they want too.

embarassed to admit that I have been here since 2001 and still don't know how to paste images.

So, in light of your comment, please tell me how to do it. There are many images I would have loved to post but instead just included a link

Thanks

You can right click on the image and a box will show up. Click on properties and another box will show up. Then cut and past the image URL into the message text. You can click preview to make sure it works.

I think this is appropriate. This doesn't give celebrity to the terrorists, but gives information to the city terrorized by them so that people can understand what happened and start to move on with their lives
