MAN - such a rotten week - but with an upbeat ending! I won't say flat-out happy since there was death, destruction, and carnage, loss and heartbreak, huge disappointment and dejection and disillusionment. This was a week when it was pretty easy to get discouraged.
Thank you to Boston's Finest for rehabilitating it a little. It ended on an up note. Grateful to say that, too.
I really think I'm going to learn a lot here.

So yes. Good work taking him alive.

Of course.
The woman who hounded Mr. Swartz to suicide is deciding his fate right now.

(1,245 posts)SOO often in situations like this, when one officer is dead and another one is down, some cops anger (quite reasonably) will boil to the surface and they end up shooting first and asking questions later.
In this situation in particular, I think we can all agree it was far preferable to take this scumbag alive, and I have nothing but respect for the skilled officers who apprehended him w/o further bloodshed.
Kudos, and a glass heartily raised to Boston's Finest, along with all the other authorities involved. Great work, ladies and gentlemen!
