There's something so poignant about the crowds cheering the police as they go by.

So much like they cheered the runners a few days ago.

They can hurt us, but they can't break us. And no matter what criticisms I may have, of that I am very proud.

for the police brought tears to my eyes ...... right up until they started to chant "USA, USA, USA". Some how it cheapened it for me. I recall other inappropriate times crowds chanted USA, USA, USA which turned into a pseudo-patriotic display. If they had shouted the names of the various police organizations that accomplished the capture of the bomber, it would have been more appropriate.
