(9,463 posts)the announcement that the suspect was in custody. I said to a visiting friend that within a few minutes there will be a party in the street. A few minutes later the first images of the crowd gathering to applaud the police came through the screen. At that point I said "Now all they need is someone to break out the beer and Boston and Watertown are going to be partying in the streets tonight like the Red Sox had won the World Series!"
Useless CTD trivia: I was born in Boston but left at a week old and never have been back though I have always wanted to get up that way.
