Inerpol Issues Global Security Alert Over Boston Bombing

At the request of US officials, Interpol has issued a global alert to search for similarly configured bombs to the ones used in the Boston marathon attack on Monday. In addition, the international police organization will distribute photos of the suspects, Dzhokar Tsarnaev, 19, who is unaccounted for, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who was killed Thursday night in a firefight with authorities.
"The decision by the FBI and US authorities to request an INTERPOL Orange Notice will enable police services and other law enforcement agencies around the world to advise US law enforcement authorities whether they've come across similarly designed devices in their own investigations, INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble said in a statement. Equally as important is the decision by the INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Washington to authorize a sanitized version to be circulated to the public, as their vigilance can be essential in alerting law enforcement to potential threats."
Interpol's involvement doesn't mean the suspects have been tied to international terrorist groups. American officials say they are still determining the motive and planning behind the attack.
