(5,379 posts)Is my best guesstimate.
One day, I noticed that Youtube started remembering me even though I had no profile and cookies turned off.
Then I discovered that Google had bought Youtube, and read they were crosslinking from my gmail account somehow.
Needless to say, I killed my gmail account. It was around the time Google annouced they text-search your messages to provide adequate ads on the side.
On a side note, every page with a facebook icon tracks you, even when you're not logged in at facebook. The intel orgs have a direct backdoor in FB since they made so many requests.
Privacy is an illusion.
