About three hours for me. And I'm 3,000 miles away from it all.
Geezus.

My husband told me that he had a nightmare last night and that someone was banging on the front door and when he opened it there was a man standing there with a revolver in HIS FACE!
Sweet sh*t guns are aren't they?

(16,993 posts)I was stunned to see the headlines on msn.com when I got online this morning. Took a second to sink in, as I hadn't even had coffee yet. Came straight to DU to get the facts.
I would have never guessed so much would happen so quickly!

(11,451 posts)So made mistake of turning on news and felt like I was watching a chase scene from a movie for 4 hours. Finally turned it off and went to sleep at 5. Got a big 4 hrs sleep.
Major towns don't just get closed down like this.
I just keep thinking all the people working on Immigration reform this morning must be thinking now it won't pass for a long time...what a shame!

Shift sleep.
Half of it is due to thunderstorms during the night, which make the dog run around the house barking like mad
until I wobble af er him and shut him up.
Last night went to bed at midnight, dog/storm got me up at 4 am!!!!
So I checked out DU, and found what I had missed.......
Yikes.....

(111,245 posts)listening to the cable news people tripping over their tongues, don't know what time I conked out. I woke up early for me, about 10:30, tuned in just in time to hear the tail end of the uncle's interview. Poor guy, I feel so sorry for him and I hope it blows over quickly for him.
So I suppose I had at least 7 hours, quite probably more.
The only reason I got to bed that early is because it's freezing in here, we got 3 days of winter after 3 weeks of late spring.

(45,056 posts)about the shooting at the store. Saw FBI on screen and told my Husband, they got them, slept like a baby. I got to say, the police and FBI effort on this just fucking rocks. They got it all together.

(2,654 posts)had a meeting at 3 pm PDT. Got out of meeting and returned to my office. Got on the web and found a link to the BPD scanner and followed through Reddit (great job, btw).
Listened to the feed in the car through my phone, got home, turned it on my laptop while following Reddit.
It was apparent early on something was up with the MIT officer down and the carjacking. None of the major news outlets was covering any of this.
As the fit hit the shan later, about midnight PDT, finally major outlets started reporting and it was hilarious because all the information they were providing was already discussed on Reddit much much earlier.
I finally went to sleep at about 3 a.m. PDT. Got up at my regular time of 5:30 a.m. PDT - listened to the BPD feed (which eventually got cut by order of the BPD), checked more updates on Reddit and went to work at my time - 7 a.m. PDT.
Still following on Reddit and DU of course, but not BPD feed because of the gag order.
I would say this is a very surreal sequence of events that Hollywood screenwriters would never devise in a million years.

(25,256 posts)I went to bed around 1:30. I figured if the MIT guys were the marathon bombers, they would have an answer in the morning.
