Oh dear. I went to bed last night with some unknown guys

driving around a suburb of Boston, killed a cop at MIT, and were in a shootout with cops, then one of them got shot and was maybe dead and the other one fled.

I wake up and everybody is talking about Chechnyans.

WTF???

So let me get this straight - the marathon bombers turned out to be these 2 young brothers from Chechnya who maybe were Muslim extremists. So they bombed the marathon because - WHY????? And then last night they tried to rob some place and shot a cop. Now 1 is dead and the other is on the lam.

Just shaking my head. Did i miss anything or is that pretty much the sum of it so far?

Same here, went to bed after they put the naked guy in the squad car. Then after hearing how one suspect was killed, I wondered how he went from naked cuffed to dead, not that it hasn't happened before... but apparently that was the wrong perp.

Why do I get the feeling that the older brother manipulated the younger one? Perhaps the older brother was jealous that the younger one had a chance to assimilate to the American way of life?

and the older, dead one was a 2nd year med student.

And now there is a 3rd suspect, a man between ages of 60-70, with bomb strapped to his chest and "dead man switch" in his hand. On the ground, cuffed, media been shoved back and also now on the ground.

Entire city in lockdown, T closed, taxi cabs have just started up again in the last half hour or so. There was an APB out for a Honda CRV headed to CT, but it was found empty in Watertown, registered to older brother.

It's been a wild morning, kestrel.

Yes, white cap man says his "world view is Muslim" but that is about it - he actually sounds pretty westernized. His brother may have been more Muslim but hard to know. And thought they were born in Chechnya, they haven't lived there since they were little kids and there doesn't appear to be any connection to radical groups there.
