General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCan we assume that Bomber #2 ditched his cell phone because the police would have
had a GPS on him by now?
Also, the cell phones are still operational in Boston. If they think he has bomb capacity, shouldn't they shut the towers down?
Maybe the two questions are interrelated. As long as he's calling out, the easier it will be to find him?

(12,228 posts)robbed, carjacked, stole and used ATM cards to get cash so they could not be tracked. Pretty desperate and determined but pretty poor planning. The police in dealing with this kind of "unprofessional" panic plus unknown bomb expertise had to be under very high pressure while acting with equal determination.

(53,026 posts)a plan hatched in Boston. There could be a couple of other young men involved, but I don't see international planning.

(31,798 posts)Several prepaid phones (cash buys) then they don't have those devices. Think 'burners' - throw aways for specific use in criminal activity. They get stolen from the distribution centers of the big wireless co.s daily (via Internet - account take over) then sold on the street cheap.
You have to have the mtn and meid or esn to pinpoint the device.
