For that aid. Make them beg and dance - but give it to them even though the ignorant asshats voted against aid to a much higher populated area with widespread catastrophic damage that wasn't caused by lax business regulations.

I'd go for their personal assets, put the owners in the poor house so THEY get to experience working in a place with low safety standards.

My understanding is that President Obama called the Governor of Texas and offered federal, FEMA aid without the governor even having to request it.

It may be hypocritical for Texas to accept the offer, but, as I understand the facts, the President offered aid before it was even requested.

It will benefit Obama more than Perry would. It also show how Obama are far more patriotic toward America than the Republicans would appreciate!

and as I recall it, GOP legislators opposed the Sandy aid bill, not because they didn't wany aid funds being provided to Sandy victims, but because they charged that the bill that was supposed to be for Sandy aid was also loaded up with funding requests for other projects that had nothing to do with Sandy aid.

Whether the bill did or didn't, I don't know. I didn't read it all. I just remember that was the assertion at the time.

Seriously, every region should now have to dance for their money the way those rotten bastards from the South made NY, CT, and NJ dance for disaster aid.

of rebuilding, or tax money being spent to help rebuild, in areas likely to be hit and re-hit by natural disasters.

Am I wrong about that?

no sense in making the average joe suffer any more than needed but add the caveat that every EPA, OSHA, and federal safety regulation must be adhered to to the max or liens will be placed on those companies that don't comply.
