Poor kid. He only moved away from home barely a year ago. Last night he was awaken to the sounds of a gun fight. Now under lockdown. The only "good" thing is that he lives on the 2nd floor of a brick building. Holy crap.

(31,464 posts)Just a couple of blocks from the shootout. We have two other couples/friends also living in the neighborhood. Obviously, the text messages are flying this morning. Everyone is pretty freaked out.

(34,589 posts)He can walk to some of the best eatin' in town. Demos... Armenian... making me hungry...

(31,464 posts)I don't if he's ever eaten there. You're right...lots of good eats nearby. I did get a chuckle, though, that MSNBC reports the only business open in the neighborhood is Dunkin Donuts! Lots of cops in town today!

I am so sorry. I'd be losing my mind if my daughter were in the midst of things as your son is.
Sounds like he's safe, but I'm so sorry he and others are going through this!!!

(31,464 posts)We've talked to him a couple times this morning. He's hunkered down, but safe.
