This is almost literally going down in my son's back yard.

Poor kid. He only moved away from home barely a year ago. Last night he was awaken to the sounds of a gun fight. Now under lockdown. The only "good" thing is that he lives on the 2nd floor of a brick building. Holy crap.

Just a couple of blocks from the shootout. We have two other couples/friends also living in the neighborhood. Obviously, the text messages are flying this morning. Everyone is pretty freaked out.

I don't if he's ever eaten there. You're right...lots of good eats nearby. I did get a chuckle, though, that MSNBC reports the only business open in the neighborhood is Dunkin Donuts! Lots of cops in town today!

Tell him to check the fresh-prepared stuff down the street at Sevan. Rhymes with "heaven" for a reason.

I am so sorry. I'd be losing my mind if my daughter were in the midst of things as your son is.

Sounds like he's safe, but I'm so sorry he and others are going through this!!!

for him.

for you.

for everyone.

We've talked to him a couple times this morning. He's hunkered down, but safe.

Hopefully this will be over with soon and you can all breathe easily. No doubt he'll be shaken up for a while though.

I can't believe how many people I know who live right there, just a few blocks from each other.
