No mention of any connection between Watertown incident and Boston bombing at least on CNN or MSBNC.

Ill wait until they get something better than "an unamed source". All of these news sites just want to be first to report the breaking news, they don't care whether its true, false, or just a Howard Stern caller.

I hope it's true though.

edit: What they 'know' was not related to Marathon, but that mit etc. stuff resulted in death of first perp, who was taken to hospital earlier. Still searching for another, in Watertown.

fbi just released new images of Marathon perps.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/19/us/boston-area-violence/index.html

Violent incidents early Friday, including the shooting death of a college police officer, kept Bostonians on edge just days after the bombing of the iconic Boston Marathon.

Howling sirens pierced the night quiet, and flashing lights lit up the darkness, as dozens of officers from state and city police responded to the deadly shooting on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Hardly an hour later, they were chasing suspects in a hijacked vehicle just less than five miles away.

There were reports that explosives may have been involved before police cornered the vehicle.

"Police were in a standoff with the vehicle just down the hill," said CNN photographer Gabe Ramirez saw the chase end in Watertown. They ordered the suspect out of vehicle and commanded he strip down naked before putting him in a patrol car and transporting him away from the scene, Ramirez said.

Police ran down the streets ....

I hope these are the guys. I hope nobody else gets hurt as they're taken into custody. I hope this is over, at least until the trial.

Eleven more days of April. I hope we all make it.

A police SUV “drove toward the shooters,” he said, and was shot at until it was severely damaged. It rolled out of control, Mr. Kitzenberg said, and crashed into two cars in his driveway.

The two shooters, he said, had a large and unwieldy bomb. “They lit it, still in the middle of the gunfire, and threw it. But it went 20 yards at most.” It exploded, he said, and one of the two men ran towards the gathered police officers. He was tackled, but it was not clear if he was shot, Mr. Kitzenberg said.

The explosions, said Loretta Kehayias, 65, another resident, “lit up the whole house. I screamed. I’ve never seen anything like this, never, never, never.”

Meanwhile, the other you man, said Mr. Kitzenberg, got back into the SUV, turned it toward officers and “put the pedal to the metal.” The car “went right through the cops, broke right through and continued west.” ...../
