I thought I stepped into a time warp when I read this.

Students with “Integrated Prom” say otherwise. According to Bloodworth, a biracial student attempted to attend the “white” prom last year and was turned away.
Students have created a page on the social networking site, facebook entitled “Integrated Prom” and have a link for anyone wishing to donate to the cause. The group also set up a pay pal account.
According to reports, the group has raised more than they had hoped for, and the integrated prom will be held on April 27 at the Cordele Community Clubhouse. The students invite the public to come and take part in the occasion.

They mention biracial and white. What is what. What is anybody. What about hispanic, american indian, italian, greek, persian, and irish, english, african, arabic, indian, creole or a mixture of all of them. Who decides what is white and what is not or who is black or brown or what about albinos, who are very white, but come from families who aren't. Skin colors are varied from beige, tan, ruddy, coffee, brown, ebony, with and without freckles, pasty, ashy, pink, red, pale, and many other shades so who decides.

My son dates women of many different backgrounds and nationalities and most his friends are of different ethnicities and all of them call me mom. Some people in the southern town i live in think I have a bunch kids with different father's and they have asked me where is your other sons, the black ones and I'll call one of them over and we just play along for fun.

I am so proud of the 20 somethings and the kids who are coming up today because they don't see color the way older people do their minds and hearts are more open and loving.

Along with one homecoming king of each race.

We had some south and east asian students, who were for those purposes white, as were students of Egyptian origin, despite their insistence that they were the only actual "African Americans" in the student body.

Anyways, the students didn't want any of this, it was entirely the parents.

here in Ga. This is the one getting attention this year. In one county, it was 2 years after their big story before any changes were made to the prom and then they only received a little attention. It's pretty unbelievable that it could still happen but it IS still happening.

Also, there are schools where the kids are still paddled by the teachers.

Change is slow in some places...and the Governor is just an ass.
