Meanwhile..in another part of the USA..others are Suffering..

Meanwhile..in another part of the USA..others are Suffering...

Much as we here dislike Texas..home of the RW and Bushies...there are folks who are devasted there.

We should not forget them. They didn't expect this anymore than the Boston Marathon Runners and Boston did.

These are folks who live in very rural area whose little "town" if you can call it a town..SPRUNG UP so the workers could live close to their place of Employment. Sort of like the "Mill Towns" that were in USA before we shipped the Mill jobs to China.

So these people should have some compassion here on DU even if they are Texans..they are the Poor Workers who are devastated.

All of America is hit with some kind of Devastation these days...

SHARE THE COMPASSION and I hope that President Obama will make a vist there to console those who have also lost Firefighters, the folks who lived in those 70 Houses and the Burn Victims who will also live with the incredible injuries and loss of their bodily functions due to this Explosion where the Fertilizer Factory...was their employment and that the Factory had been CITED BEFORE FOR VIOLATION.

Please let President Obama wake up to more Regulation on our Factories where honest Citizens WORK...trying to feed their Families. They are "no less" than those who are suffering in Boston.

IT IS ALL OF US....dealing with this SHIT...from Climate Change/Fracking/Angry and Disturbed folks and DEREGULATION EVERYWHERE!

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER...in the COMING YEARS.....We need to look out for EACH OTHER...but press our Government on the issues that are causing some of this...or much of it.

of it because it was such a tiny town...with so much devastation...but so rural...it hardly seems to matter in the great scheme of things these days.

I just didn't want them forgotten. Even though it's EVIL TEXAS... Many of us live in places where we have EVIL STATE GOVERNMENT...and there's nothing we really could do about it in these past years. Voting for Many of us doesn't mean much anymore for State Offices controlled by BIG MONEY from Special Interests.

It may be eclipsed by other news events, but it matters. And it shouldn't be politicized.

It's a human tragedy affecting the lives and the physical and emotional health of real people.

No need to explain your reasons for posting. It goes without saying.

A developing story in Texas where authorities say a fertilizer plant exploded near Waco, causing numerous injuries. TV station KWXT is reporting numerous injuries and photos on Twitter show a large plume from the area of destruction.

From the KWXT report:

Several buildings were reported destroyed and a nearby nursing home was damaged.

There were reports that people were trapped in the nursing home and in an apartment building.

Scanner traffic indicated that some residents of both the nursing home and apartment building were severely injured.

Children are among the victims, according to reports from the scene.

The explosion knocked out power to many area customers and could be heard and felt for miles around.

Brad Smith, who lives 45 miles north of West in Waxahachie, told the station that he and his wife heard what sounded like a thunderclap.

Lydia Zimmerman, told KWTX that she, her husband and daughter were in their garden in Bynum, 13 miles from West, when they heard multiple blasts.

"It sounded like three bombs going off very close to us," she said.

COMPLETE UPDATES on the unfolding story.

There could be a opportunity to show that we all, even the lefties, see them and care.

Which is the first thing we should have compassion for the people near this plant, or any plant like it. I hope neighbors of other plants throughout the country will speak up and make sure that the regulations are being followed. The danger goes far beyond the loss of the plant and personal working there, but could wipe out blocks of a city.

No one in the city deserved to go through this and the owner was careless to the point he harmed an entire town. I feel really bad for the older people in the nursing home. They of all people were already vulnerable. To have the place they are being cared for blown up is just unthinkable. I wish everyone down there well and hope they get to the bottom of this quickly.
