Minnesota "conservative" radio talk show host tells Newtown families to "go to hell."

Why is this guy still on the air?

Minnesota radio host Bob Davis last week said last Friday he would like to personally tell the families in Newtown, Connecticut whose children were murdered to “go to hell.”

On his show Davis & Emmer, which is broadcast by Twin Cities News Talk AM 1130, he attacked the families of those killed in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School for speaking in support of stricter gun laws.

“I have something I want to say to the victims of Newtown, or any other shooting,” Davis said. “I don’t care if it’s here in Minneapolis or anyplace else. Just because a bad thing happened to you doesn’t mean that you get to put a king in charge of my life. I’m sorry that you suffered a tragedy, but you know what? Deal with it, and don’t force me to lose my liberty, which is a greater tragedy than your loss. I’m sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out, given rides on Air Force One, hauled into the Senate well, and everyone is just afraid — they’re terrified of these victims.”

“I would stand in front of them and tell them, ‘go to hell,’” he added.

The bigger problem is networks like Clear Channel, who's mission is to promote vermin like Davis whether they make money from them or not. As I have heard it told, Rush Limbaugh was force-fed to radio stations who bought the Clear Channel broadcast package. Apparently the Limbaugh show made very little money in the beginning, but that didn't matter, Clear Channel wanted his propaganda out there.

The public airwaves were never meant for one-sided, bought and paid for propagandists.

It's gotten out of control and it needs to stop.

If I can say whatever the hell I want without being jailed or having my tongue cut out, then my free speech has not been infringed.

Everything else is fair game to me.

Pull his ass off the radio.

Everybody, trust me. I am born and bled Minnesotan blood, this radio host does not speak for traditional blue Minnesotans whose reputations are well known for being very nice and respectful of others. We are with Newton victims' families. We felt so bad for them.

This radio host is cold and absolute inhumane to tell these families to go to hell. That made me sick to my stomach. I just discover that his radio station is less than 10 miles from where I lives at. I'm going to make a vow to you all, I will go to that station to protest against this idiotic host.

65. My husband got into it with a right winger at work yesterday who told him Newtown was no big deal
Thu Apr 18, 2013, 04:10 PM
Apr 2013

And that what the Senate did voting down the gun legislation was the right thing to do. My husband got into his face and said, "you;re telling me that 20 innocent children getting massacred is no big deal"? He then told him , " I wonder if you would be saying the same thing if it happened to your daughter at school". The guy backed off and called my husband a crazy liberal. There were several people around his shop who witnessed this shouting match and not one person stepped in. And later a few came up to my husband and said good job getting into that a-holes face. This guy he works with thinks Mark Levin is a true Patriot and also loves Rush. He works in a union job making good money yet bashes unions. My husband has said he needs to quit the job and get a non union one if he feels that way. The right winger put in a bid to go to another shop. I hope he goes there, as I am tired of my husband talking about this little creep. The guy is an American born Mexican who looks like he could be illegal (the real Indian type of Mexican) yet he denounces other Latino immigrants and say they should go back to where they came from. Personally I think the guy has a self loathing problem but my husband says he likes the guy despite his politics. My husband is a bigger person than I am.

It will eventually lose money the older baby boomers get. I have heard a lot of crap against these families. They have lost their young children, they dealt with the media sometimes harassing them, politicians being assholes. This is just one irrelevant old man desperate for attention and ratings. I love my state of CT. We changed things HERE. To hell with what the rest of the country does.

Its a background check not a loss of liberty. No loss of any liberty at all you sanctimonious gasbag, insensitive, incredibly dumb motherfucker!

I wonder if he would feel the same if it were his 6 year old that was murdered by a warped nutbag armed to the teeth. All of these collective mouth breathing, knuckle draggers seem to have this weird fetish about their damn guns and dreams of having their 'Dirty Harry, go ahead, make my day' moment. This asshole supreme is one sick perversion of humanity. I hope he swallows a turd!

100. This, ladies and gentleman, is your modern day gun nut. And the said thing is, here on DU
Thu Apr 18, 2013, 11:15 PM
Apr 2013

people post things the support views of gun nuts, get alerted to the jury system and the jury allows the posts to stand.

People that espouse gun nut, NRA musings like this have no place in the political dialogue with rational, intelligent people (meaning gun owners that don't fear a non-existent government conspiracy that the Alex Jones/Glenn Beck crowd see) and certainly have no business posting on DU at all.

But any time a gun story or, lesser extent, a police brutality story comes out, the badge sniffers and gun nuts go on the attack.

Thanks, Archae! I'm spreading it out amongst the non-DU crowd. http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2013/04/19/gun-crazy-radio-host-to-newtown-families-go-to-hell/

Here's a snip: "Gentle Reader, do you have children (or nieces, nephews, or grandbabies)? Try this little experiment: Go into the bedroom where they lie sleeping. Look at them, and say to them, “I’d rather you die than I might have to get a background check when I buy my next gun”.

Here’s hoping you can’t say that. In fact, we’re pretty sure you couldn’t. But Bob Davis could. And would. Here’s hoping that sick f*** doesn’t have children. Lord help them if he does."

Why do these wingnuttery buffoons always try to out lowlife each other just so they can come off as a tough guy? I'd rather have a backyard full of kids having fun while their parents and my friends cook steaks and burgers on the grill over a few beers. Maybe catch a ballgame on the tv and enjoy each other's company. To me that's some of the spice and a nice slice of life. And no goddamn guns and paranoia allowed!

132. And ain't it sad how quickly these types were willing to give up our "freedoms" after 9/11?
Sat Apr 20, 2013, 01:36 AM

That was 3000+souls lost and we were forced to open our lives to the government and let our neighbors spy on us.
Well over 3000+souls have been lost already since SandyHook but their murderers get to maintain their "freedoms" undiminished.

I doubt that he even cares at all that innocent people were killed by some deranged psychopath. All he seems to care about is the "liberty" to hoard guns and for gun nuts to live their lives in cowardice and paranoia of some government takeover that will never happen.
To Hell with everyone else's liberty to be safe and not be randomly shot at in public. This country shouldn't have to put up with such self-centered mindsets muddying the debate.
