I read that 75 homes were destroyed and so far they have found 15 people dead. Some were volunteer firemen.

So sad.

I've always been told in Texas old homes were "built better", but nothing can hold up to something like what happened there.

on the up to see my brother who lives north of Dallas. Brother loves kolaches-so I always pick some up.

I discovered West by accident in the 70's. Took a wrong turn and wound up in the old downtown. It was like being in Eastern Europe-all the signs were in Czech. Smack dab in the middle of Texas. I fell in love with the people and have been back many times over the years and taken folks with me.

I am so sorry to hear about this and my deepest prayers are with those kind hearted, hard working folks.

So often, politics tends to reduce Texas to some figure of our opposition. It does well to remind ourselves of the many, many dear and wonderful people who make up the state; far too many suffering the consequences of this factory so close to their homes.

Thank you for providing some depth and picture of the folks who live there.

they want to make it harder for citizens to exercise control over the industries that are built near by. Texas is so lax in their regulation of these businesses now and it sounds like folks have been trying to get rid of it for years.

Flying flags at half staff don't mean shit if you don't do something to prevent it from happening again.

I can't help but wonder if the old church had it's stain glass windows blown out. I think it might be far enough away, but you can never tell about the shock waves. The windows were so majestic.
