Tea party (California) blasts 'amnesty'. "Won't vote for another republican if this passes."

Marin residents view bipartisan immigration bill as overdue first step

Marin residents responded with cautious optimism Wednesday after introduction of a bipartisan immigration bill in the U.S. Senate.

Not everyone, however, was applauding the Gang of Eight's efforts. Rick Oltman of Novato, a member of the Tea Party Immigration Coalition and founder of the nonprofit Sovereignty Matters, said, "I don't believe one bit of it is sincere. I don't believe there is any intention to secure the border."

In fact, Oltman maintains that talk of immigration reform in Washington, D.C. is aimed at encouraging more immigrants to cross the border illegally to generate more potential customers for U.S. businesses.

Oltman said, "I'm talking to so many people who are saying that if the Republicans pass this amnesty they're going to vote for a third party; they'll never vote for another Republican."

The republican civil war continues. The base does not like this 'amnesty' bill one bit. Will it prevail when immigration reform comes to a vote? And if the base loses will they, indeed, "never vote for another republican again". Unlikely but something to consider.
