Making sweeping, generalized statements is usually a bad idea, but in this case...

...I am going to do it anyway.

1. ANYONE who posts ANYTHING from the New York Post will be relegated by me to the dustbin of stupid sucker sap silly irrelevance. Calling the Post fishwrap is an insult to fish. If they reported that water is wet, I would get in the shower to make sure. (this is inspired by yet another LBN thread carrying wildly inaccurate Post vomit)

2. ANYONE who posts ANYTHING along the lines of ZOMG FALSE FLAG WHAAARGARBLE will be relegated to the same dustbin, for reasons so patently obvious that I'm not going to waste the calories required to type them out.

End transmission.

I find nothing in fault in either of those statements. It's bad enough when those posts spring forth from the fevered imaginations of individuals susceptible to fear in all its nebulous forms, but when it's dragged here from some specious RW website, it's an attempt to 'legitimize' their fear and spread it to others. It has no place on DU.

I think it's safe to simply ignore sources we don't trust. Or, better, to simply educate the poster.

CNN has been fucking up everything in sight lately.

I cross-check against Guardian/BBC/Al Jazeera before I believe anything any major US media outlet says anymore.

A bad rag ought to have at least a good comic section, just in case someone leaves their paper behind on the train and I have nothing else to read.

Don't you understand sensational bullshit lies sell papers and increase web traffic? It's not the NY Posts fault those kids let their images be caught on cameras. /sarcasm

I won't even give that sleaze site a hit. Screw them and their unethical publication.
