Question for DU fertilizer "experts" on the West explosion...

I assume the explosion was caused by something along the lines of ammonium nitrate.

I saw a very small explosion just prior to the final blast. I'm wondering if that represented some pressure failure in one or more containers.

What I don't know is how such volatile fertilizers are stored. Are they kept in silos?
