Not tonight, maybe not tomorrow, but soon - the Senate will pass a background check bill

Think back. In 1994, the crime bill was quashed in the House of Representatives. You remember how President Clinton and his allies worked the phones and managed to rescue the bill from the wastebasket.

From my viewpoint, the compromise background check bill that the Senate voted down today has even more support than the 1994 crime bill did. And that support is coming from all corners of America, not just a few states. We all realize the value in this bill.

Even I support it. And if you know me, that's saying a LOT. I want this bill to pass.

But we have to keep working for just a little while longer. And we have to approach the Democrats who voted against it and twist their arms a little bit more, not to mention a few sympathetic Republicans.

I believe in the Constitution and the Second Amendment, but I also believe in the voice of the people, and that's why I'm saying that if you really want to see Obama sign this into law, you have to make a promise to yourself - the bill is coming back.

The bill is coming back.

There's your starting point. You already have the momentum on this. And this may also require a lot of "weed and seed" in the House next year, but the bill is coming back. Say it to yourself a couple of times, and raise your voice a little each time.

One way or another, this is getting done. Believe this. In the end, together, we will prevail.

The. Bill. Is. Coming. Back.

1. I don't think they should revisit it. We want our gunz, we want them now, as many as we can carry.

Let society be as violent as the Republicans want. Let them cheer every time another massacre happens, that gun owners overcame the oppression of paper forms and a brief delay in gratification.

I know a lot of people are pissed, but this is only the end if they allow it to be.

They won. And they know it.

It is not coming back.

The next issue will be immigration.

If gun-control advocates can do it, so can the Senate. It's not that hard. But it does require some more pressure.

Democrat or Republican.

They represent disproportionately rightwing states.

10. I don't think so. Even if it were brought back, the House wouldn't go for it.

All that happened today was that parties and candidates took stances on the issue for 2014.

The Tea Party has the House. But that's supposed to be the people's House. We have work to do.
