That said, the real blame goes to Harry Reid and the rest of the dems who could not bring themselves to shut down the 60 vote thing TWICE when we could have done it.

He found a way to actually lead on this issue.

Max Baucus is a sell out and a coward.

Long gone are the days when dems held a substantial majority.. For the foreseeable future we will have a razor thin edge (in either favor), and there are hardly any republicans who will stray our way, and there are always dems who will vote with republicans (see the Bush Era senate)

The problem isn't the filibuster, it's the Senate's membership.

11. What's the difference anyway? WHAT'S THE FUCKING DIFFERENCE?

The GOP apparently are such star-spangled super-heroes that they control all whether in the minority or majority, whether they hold the White House or not, so WHY BOTHER?

Why even try to hold people accountable for their actions or decisions?

Why try and remember how members of Congress voted, or what presidents do as opposed to what they said they'd do?

Why have fucking primaries, or elections?

I'm tired of being wrapped in the novacained cotton-wool of "political realism" or inside baseball Beltway bullshit, and being soothed and reminded that it could be worse.

HOW? Please explain to me how it would be any different than it already is - fucked-up, venal, arrogant, dysfunctional and soaked in blood.

12. That's the Problem

See that's the problem and the trap that the Democrats are stuck in. And please understand that I'm not aiming this at you.

It's always "well if we don't vote for this fake Democrat than a Republican will win..."

Sadly that's true. But we HAVE to change it. We must put pressure on these clowns or find a way to get real D's elected

13. Elimination of the 60 vote "rule" ends the nonsense too

That allows for a few "rowdy" dems to misbehave and still hold their seat needed for a majority..
