MILWAUKEE Milwaukee Police have confirmed that a bridge near downtown has been closed because of a suspicious package.

A department representative said they received a call just after 1 p.m. of a suspicious package located at 16th and Pierce streets.
Several streets surrounding that intersection have been closed as a precaution.

Update: reopened. Authorities have not yet commented on the investigation or what was found in the package.
I guess we're seeing a lot of this...

I suspect it'll turn out to be nothing.

This does not mean that there is a bomb, however. The likelihood is that there is not.
