and then they have to hear that they'll be disappointed because the news they were listening to wasn't verified. That's just totally irresponsible of the news stations that did this.

I consider it entirely plausible that they made arrests, the media went with it, the Feds deny it because they are still conducting their investigation so they silence the media by claiming there has been no arrest.
