"Authorities have identified a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, and conflicting reports emerged Wednesday afternoon over whether the suspect was in custody.
The Associated Press and the Boston Globe reported the suspect was in custody and was en route to the Moakley Federal Courthouse in South Boston. A spokeswoman for the the US attorney's office in Boston would not comment to Yahoo News on the reports of the arrest. CBS and NBC News are both reporting that no arrest has been made. CNN also reported no arrest has been made, backtracking from its earlier report that the suspect was in custody.
The Boston Globe reported that officials have found an image of "a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene."
The FBI is holding a press conference at 5 p.m. and is expected to announce the news then. CNN reported that the breakthrough in the investigation came from analyzing department store surveillance video and video from a news station.. ..
It seems unlikely that he would have acted alone, said the federal agent, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly.
Police have said the two bombs were fashioned from debris-filled pressure cookers and stuffed in black bags. They were located about 100 yards apart.
To carry one heavy bag in is one thing, but a single suspect having two bags would have stood out, the law enforcement source told Yahoo News."

(53,031 posts)false reports. Every bag sitting around was feared to be a bomb.
This story could very well be a false report too, as it's already been contradicted.
