Reports: Investigators identify suspect in Boston bombings
A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing has been identified by federal investigators, CNN reported Wednesday.
CNN reporter John King said that video footage collected from a Lord and Taylor department store and the local Fox television affiliate show an individual who investigators believe placed the explosive device responsible for the second of the twin blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
The Boston Globe reports that the image shows the suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the site of the second blast.
It is unclear whether the suspect is in custody, but CNN reports Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D-MA) and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino (D) have been briefed on the situation.
