7. CNN: Suspect Identified in Marathon Bombings

That is what the headline on CNN says--there will be a briefing at five PM by the FBI.

Law enforcement source in Boston told John King that they had a "game changer" in terms of the investigation. The breakthrough came from video analysis from Lord and Taylor department store video. They could see the placement of the bomb and had a facial identification.

Motive is still a question.

that really is half the battle. Either authorities will identify the suspect's name themselves or they'll publish the picture to the world for identification. Once they have a name, the suspect will either be arrested or hide. If the suspect has significant contacts with the U.S. (a trail), the suspect will probably be caught quickly.

That guy's holding a regular sized backpack and the bomb is in a hiking backpack. You couldn't fit a pressure cooker full of nails and ball bearings in a backpack that size or hold it the way he's holding it.

Also, it looks like a second smaller backpack is being leaned against the front one. It's possible someone set another bag down next to the one with the bomb in it by accident.

It may have had a dark interior lining and that's why they said at first it was black backpack.

Or it could even have been a backpack inside a backpack.

Sounded like his source used some non-PC terms to describe the suspect and King was reluctant to repeat them verbatim.

Would be difficult enough to sneak in and set down 1 backpack with 50+ pound bomb than to be lugging 2 of them around in separate backpacks.

"If your experience and your expertise is Middle East terrorism, it has the hallmarks of al Qaeda or a Middle East group," former FBI Assistant Director Tom Fuentes said. "If your experience is domestic groups and bombings that have occurred here, it has the hallmarks of a domestic terrorist like Eric Rudolph in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics bombings."
