The point of state power is to use it Selectively.

Why can police stop anyone, anywhere, and detain them, feel them up, ask impertinent questions, make threats and generally go Stasi on their ass?

Because it is assumed that they will only do it to blacks, hispanics and white teenagers.

Why do we have laws that almost everyone is guilty of? Why do we have speed limits that are violated by 100% of rush hour drivers, but that offer sufficient cause to pull over a hispanic-seeming driver at 3 am? The question answers itself.

Why was it wrong for Nixon to seek IRS audits of people on his enemies list?

Because there is something wrong with almost everyone's taxes if you spend enough time looking at them.

What percentage of pot smokers are in prison? The right answer should be none or all. What would the economic effect be of locking them all up? Why do we have laws that would break society's back if they were enforced?

The universal criminal state is a time-tested model. Everyone the government rolls up will be guilty of something. The question is why that person was the one.

Selective inquiry. Selective prosecution.

Yes, let's have cameras everywhere. Because of course the state will be fair and balanced in deciding which people to virtual-follow around waiting for them to run afoul of some law or another.

And when they are rolled up there WILL be video and they WILL be committing a crime and people who want THAT person in jail will feel quite justified.

The ultimate authoritarian stooge saying is, "If you have nothing to hide, what are you afraid of?"

That needs to be amended to, "If you have nothing to hide and are whoever the state is sympathetic toward..."
