FBI, IRS raid Pilot Flying J HQs

The FBI and IRS locked down Pilot Flying J headquarters in West Knoxville today while executing a search warrant.

FBI Supervisory Special Agent Marshall Stone said that FBI and IRS agents arrived at the corporate headquarters on Lonas Road this afternoon as part of a “ongoing investigation.” Stone declined to provide specifics of the raid.

The company was founded more than 50 years ago by Jim Haslam, the father of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, who was once president of the company.

Jimmy Haslam stepped down as CEO last year after buying a majority ownership of the Cleveland Browns of the NFL He returned to the helm in February, saying he missed being CEO.

I was at a Leadership speech a few weeks ago where he said that it was his former company.

Now he just makes money from it. Probably has dinner conversation with the brother.
