Mitch McConnell keeping it classy

http://thinkprogress.org/security/2013/04/16/1872941/mcconnell-boston-complacent/

MCCONNELL: On 9/11 we forever disabused of the notion that attacks, like the one that rocked Boston yesterday ,only happen on the field of battle or in distant countries. With the passage of time, however, and the vigilant efforts of our military, intelligence and law enforcement professionals, I think it’s safe to say that for many, the complacency that prevailed prior to September 11th has actually returned. And so we are newly reminded that serious threats to our way of life remain. And today again we recommit ourselves to the fight against terrorism at home and abroad.

It's American complacency that is to blame for yesterday's bombing in Boston...right.

and literally screamed in frustration. I fully expected LaPierre to show up afterward to tell us all that if everyone had been armed on that street no one would have been harmed. This is what this is all about--preventing gun control measures and ramping up the war machine.

I just sent that idiot an email reading as follows:

I just heard your remarks on the events of yesterday in Boston and see that you have chosen to blame the American people for their "complacency." Sir, this citizen is laying blame at the feet of a Congress which refuses to serve the nation and plays games with our national policy to hold onto power. Instead of telling us that we all need to be armed to the teeth and that we have no responsibility to one another, try building some consensus and encouraging a sense of community in the nation. You are part of the problem right now. I strongly encourage you to stop actively working to divide the nation and engage in a meaningful way to promote solutions for the good of the many and not the few.
