it's not an inaccurate statement. Just because we don't know which terrorist did it, doesn't mean it wasn't a terrorist act.

Kind of like bank robbery, homicide, and other crimes.

My point was that all three types of crime could be identified without knowing the identity of the perpetrators.

Yeah, it's one of those days when people are reading a lot into the words of others. I really was just trying to repeat what Obama had said, not ascribing any judgement on it. And I missed your point too, it seems.
