...for years it was the go-to network in a national or international tragedy. It was solid reporting and information...now it's speculation and verbal masturbation...an attempt to manufacture news rather than report it...

...I agree...I used to watch CNN 24/7. The change began with the advent of faux noise (which was around the same time as Turner sold to Time/Warner) and the shift from information to opinion. It got worse in recent years with the loss of quality people like Bernie Shaw, Judy Woodruff, the late John Holloman and Aaron Brown. Wolfie is totally unwatchable and his "panel of experts" are even more insipid. I rarely watch it today...and looks like it's devolved even further under its latest management shake-up. I think MSNBC has done a very credible job in their coverage...minimizing opinion and sticking to the facts as they're being presented...
